Well, greetings from FROSTBITE FALLS!!(aka: Niagara Falls)
I can't figger this out. We went from 18 C (65 F), to -9C (15 F). We actually got our first taste of winter yesterday..even had the snow blower out!
Now, we're supposed to have RAIN by Thursday evening & temps of +5C (41F) by Saturday.

Is this global warming..or "Divine Intervention"?

We had a raging thunderstorm/blizzard yesterday for about 15 ~ 30 minutes.

Send the rain this way. We have had well below rainfall for the last 3 years. We don't have any water to irrigate this coming winter and the chances of getting any decent rain in the next 2 months is zero.

The outlook for next year is good. The El Nino effect will subside and we should see weather patterns returning to normal. If it doesn't we will be out of business along with a lot of other guys.

I know of one farmer in our district who sold his whole dairy herd just before Christmas. 600 milking cows off to slaughter. He had no water and no grazing. For most of us it's going to be a hard winter. I expect to see a few casualties along the way.

we have been below zero F for a few days now - so im not feeling your pain , i got my own ...

but then today started a heat wave +21F and it will last a couple days before we dip back down for the next week ,

good thing is we are a month and a half from saying goodby to this frigid period , and only a month or two after that from spring - glass is half full at all times ,

We've had floods in the NW and NE fields are soaked so water just runs off , up to 5 foot of water in the houses, buildings and bridges collapsing they even called the army out over christmas to help now it's starting to freeze and snow. To top it all looters were going in and helping themselves to whatever they wanted, it's going to cost billions to repair the damage.

Hey, I have slightly webbed feet. All my Canadian family members have it.

When we sleep on our backs we quack up.

Actually Tony's on the wrong side of the country for webbed feet, that's on the right hand coast.

We've been very lucky the land slopes away from the house so apart from a few huge puddles on the roads and fields the house was dry. Looters wouldn't come round here, there are two lunatics with guns and a mad german shepherd close by. The poor devils 4 miles away were flooded out and had to evacuate their houses and move into school halls, a he!! of a way to spend xmas and new year.

Tony, just knowing it is your house would keep me away.

The deer bones all over the yard keep people away with a plastic skull nail to a tree helps.
