Just heard that REMINGTON - the oldest firearms manufacturer in U.S. has filed for bankruptcy.

I have heard that S&W are not far behind. Hopefully they will be sold to someone who wants to run a company not a dividend mine.

S & W bin teetering for a long time, so I'm told. First their in dire straights...then they can't keep up.. then its back to dire straights...etc.
Guess its all about who's in power today.

They made a very good 9mm - but Glock took all that for law enforcement sales. (prob woulda saved their butt)

They lost a lot of repeat buyer's when they put the lock on the side of the frame. Many think it ugly, others hate the knuckling under to the feds. Oldhand

They've had quality control issues for quite awhile. They've also spent tons of money defending themselves from lawsuits.

Just another means of attacking the Second Amendment.

Wasn't Remington making the Marlin brand as well? Or was? My Marlin 45-70 gov't has a REM stamp and is an early 81 series serial# apparently made at the Remington factory using original Marlin parts.
