Had to dig out some for some obscure reason, as I'm not into pig stickers, these just get greased and wrapped in clingwrap and tossed in an old ammo box, here for your veiwing pleasure.

Well, I'd be only too happy to swap it for one the same but with less pitting, it's pretty obvious that such a kind generous soul like yourself would like to make my dull, boring Christmas just a tad brighter, after all, they say it's better to give than receive.Beer

Some of you guys make me sick! And by sick, I mean green with jealous envy! I gotta start hitting the antique stores and yard sales more.
Seriously, great assortment of bayonets.
Thanks for the pics.

Do not forget to check antique stores.

I find lots of stuff people mislabel all the time.

Always looking for military manuals, Dodge M37 items, books on Berlin Germany, old atlases ( before 1946) , military maps of Scotland. English and Canadian gun parts.

That right there is the best reason to enter an antique store. Aside from looking newly minted, what are the giveaways of fake hooky's. nice collection and use of empty ammo box.
Cheers

Tell everyone it is a rare bayonet. The rest of it is still stuck in someone backside.

Just another bayonet to me in my eyes.

muffett.2008...

As a longtime dedicated '07' collector, my ethics would not settle if I stood back and allowed such a shabby.. and as such... irreparable item as the 'hookie' to remain in your hands. The individual who sold it to you should be found and subsequently horse whipped! It is a disgrace, and out of the goodness of my caractor... I will see you have the better of the deal. Two standard '07's will be despatched forth with! Clown

This is MY rifle, there are many like, but this one... is MINE!

At one point in the 60's there was a glutt of bayonets of all types. Dealers could not give '07's away.. it was so bad. Many of the Bayonet fire side sets = Brush, Tongs, Shovel, Poker..  come from that era. I've seen lamp shades, cancelarbra, book ends, dinner gongs, clothes brush sets, shoe cleaning stands.. all manner of items.
Favourite bayonets for the fire side sets seem to be the French Chassepot, with full brass handle, or the later wood handled with brass pommel.
