I see we can buy Woodleigh bullets in Canada. 174's and 215's (ouch!) Any members ever try these bullets? My current go to is 150gr Sierra Prohunter, reloaded. I'm thinking of going with 180's for my No 4 Mk 2 sniper clone.

I find that 180's - in every factory load I've tried - drop quite a bit.
I'm ok with 150's & 174's |

Honkytonk, where can we buy these bullets in Canada? I want to load my own 215 grain rounds for one of my Parker Hale #4 rifles. A friend of mine used to use 215 grains on Elk and Moose, etc with good results.

Type in Woodleigh Bullets Tradeexcanada. 215 gr Weldnose RN $40 box of 50. Definitely looks like it would leave a mark!!!

Geez Canuck..Elk & moose aren't made of armour. A 180 will do the job very well.

Canuck,
You may have feed troubles with the 215 gr in a No 4 action. The ramp is different to the No 1. My hunting Ishapore likes the 215 gr, but up to now have been using old Imperial or Dominion. Getting hard to find so may get some Woodleigh , particularly for the Long Lee. Hoadie, Yes, for elk and such the 180 gr is good enough, but the 215 gr have worked Very well for me.

Pukka, generally I only load one round into the chamber by hand not from the magazine. I do that as part of my 'fair chase' attitude towards harvesting an animal. My scoped #4 hunting rifle only allows that method anyway as a charger cannot be employed.
