This probably belongs in reloading, but any way Dave, I'm guessing the go with .243 is Ar2209.

What do you reckon the go is for the .303? Ar 2206h or AR 2208?

       I like both AR2206  & 2206H in the .303  I've never liked  AR2208 ! I've had Pressure problems with it !  (In the days when we still had IMR powders 2206 was roughly the equivilent of IMR 3031 which in my mind was & is still one of the most vesitile IMR powders )

     The Beauty of AR2206H is that by any other name it's Hogdon 4895 ! which means it's great for reduced loads with cast bullets !

                  ADI AR2206H = H4895
AR2208 = Varget
AR2209 = H4350
AR2213SC = H4831
AR2217 =H1000
AR2219 =H322
AR2225 =Retumbo

      These are the Powder that are exported to the US under the name of hogdon & the data is interchangeable ! As a matter of intrest Data for both IMR4227 & H4227 is interchangeable with AR 2205!

      The methord of reducing a load with AR2206H/H4895 (& Ar2206H/H4895 only !!!!!!!!!!!!!!) is to take the Max load listed for the bullet weight you want to use  Multiply it by 60% & the result is your load ! You have 10% to play with either way here ! IE 50% to 70% ! But only with loads  Using  AR2206H  or H4895!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

          Examples

          303 brit  150 gn bullet   Max charge 40gns x60%=24gns reduced load

          .243 Win  75gn bullet     Max charge  38gns x 60%= 22.8 gns reduced load !

Looks like I'm getting both a tin of AR2206H and AR2209 then.

Better move this over to reloading eh, I will start a new thread.
