I've already built the equivalent with a No4 Mk1/3 that I got with a 22" barrel, but I suppose a No5 would be even closer.
 
And Richard/SIA's scope mount is way more useful.

should have a walnut stock, and a mag that long should hold 20 rds. Other than that I like it.
You can still get a Savage Scout for considerably less, I believe.
 
And I agree with you about the No5.

It's a nice looking rig but for that price they can keep it!  Too bad it's a mauser action.

Agreed Aifwikir, nice piece and the pricing is a ltlle high for me too, I do howvere disagree with you about the Mauser actions thou. Mauser made some of the finest and strongest actions, I like them Big smile.

shes pretty but not really as nice as a no5 and not quite as impressive as a scout M1A , and im calling it a nbo go in my gunroom for now , i do love rugers tho and if someone gives me one or sells it cheap - i will revise my story in a new york minute

Well for the same amount of money you can get (Those in the US) a Rather nice Garand from the CMP.
