Quote Tracy, a farm town of about 2,000 people, is probably best known for the tornado that roared through town in 1968, killing nine people and flattening much of the town.

Don't know about pigs but after the Tracy tornado there were cows hanging from the power lines.  I lived through a F3 tornado.  Friends say I've never been the same since.

Hey, SGM..I was readin back postings, I'm cofused. If you were born in '87, how did you encounter Tracey in '68? Am I readin this wrong?

I personaly did not encounter the Tracy tornado.  The tornado I lived through was the storm of '98.  Unfortunately I could find nothing of it on the internet.  I do remember my father talking about the Tracy Tornado though and given  the lack of info on the other one I decided to subsitute.  The storm of '98 is still disputed as to wether it was straight line winds or an actual tornado.  But When there is a swath through the woods 100FT wide of heathly trees laying every which direction, My mind is made up.  This same storm system covered almost the entire centeral part of this state.

I've seen the future and I don't like it.

My best friend took a direct hit from one.He always said, Man-I'd like to see a tornado close up.We used to drive to Fla every Marc. One year we were gettin reports of Twisters on the radio.S'posed to be right where we were-but we couldn't see it.When we came over the hill on I-75 southern Kentucky we were greeted with quite a sight.Twister was gone-but it left alot of people's lives scattered across the highway & fields, as far as the eye could see.Still didn't see a twister.
But 98, he was in Dwight Ontario -way up-just ouside Algonquin park.It came thru the forest, across the lake, & hit the cottages in the middle of the night.Walls ripped out, 150 yr old trees down, cars crushed. They were trapped there for 5 days before crews could get in.
Now he doesn't wanna see them anymore.
