I just submitted a question to Criterion a few minutes ago and already got a response. They have another batch of No. 4 barrels in work and are expecting them to be ready to ship later this spring. The website currently shows "unavailable" but if you sign up for the restock notification, you will be notified of the status.
I plan to order a few more; I don't want to get caught without having a few spare barrels on hand.

I’m curious to see if there is any difference between the one you mounted last week and those

I doubt it.
Next time I do this, I’m going to be very careful with how I finish ream the chamber. These are supposed to be short chambered by 0.01 inches and I’m not convinced the chamber needs any reaming at all. My reamer lengthened the throat considerably and may have taken away significant barrel life. Using a Hornady OAL gage, the throat seemed just fine the way it came from Criterion. I’m going to ask them about this. I might get a custom reamer made if necessary. |

Sorry for the dumb question but do these new barrels have provisions for iron sights?

Yes, the foresight block band lugs are machined into the barrel, but you have to file a groove into the top of the barrel to install the tapered pin that secures the band to the barrel. Quite easy to do. I posted details of how I did it on this Forum.
