Cleaning my 1950 Mk3*

Finally took this ol gal apart for cleaning. She is a greasy mess under the wood. Bolt and magazine were packed with grease. Great shape, just slow to clean up. I do have to address the draws, though. My big question is why repair the foreend cracks if you are not going to fix the draws? Bit of an oversight there.

ill watch your progress , this looks like a big job to me but then ive not done any projects in the last 10 years

Not sure why I never thought of it before, but today I ordered some sheet brass. Just a 6"x2" sheet that is 1/8" thick. Perfect thickness for making brass plates for the draws. Pretty cheap, too.

excellent idea , find some nice small brass screws and you got it made

Oddly "Lowes" may have those in the specialty fastenings section of Hardware.
