Sounds like the are willing to go pretty far.(the scope and mounts)Hey i have a question, i am about a few weeks from haveing an opprtunity to buy my first enfield. But with so many to choose from which do i go with. I like my 8mm mauser and i want the power but i love the classics and nothing is more classic than the enfield. Which would be my best route? Which enfield should i start with?
Don't piss down my back and tell me its raining....

Whichever one takes your fancy.
Once you have one you will want more. Enfield road is a long one.
Just make sure you take your time and look over any you are interested in to ensure getting one in good condition.

For the record ! a 6x40 Niko Stirling scope & mount thrown by a very pissed off & tried 6'2" ,23stone  Shooter travels just a tad under 20mtrs !!!!!!Evil%20Smile(I  measured it ! As Tracey said I'd thrown it to the sh*t house ! Thats a good 50mtrs from my bench & I wanted to prove her wrong ! )

As for a First Enfield ? Oh Gawd ! Personally I'd start with a Mk111 & work from there !

Woulda been better than an International thats for sure. I had an old Inter hay baler and it aged me 5 years each time I used it.
Now I got a New Holland

AC did not have a very good reputation when it comes to balers.  Then again AC did not realy have a good reputation for anything.  John Deere though.... Everything they made did well.

The 2 best...

Running gears are JD and Harms
Stay away from Minnesota(brand) Running gears.  My expierence is that there junk.  Thier spreaders ain't that bad though.  Made in the state prision in Stillwater.

Balers are JD and NH

Plows are JD and Oliver

.....
I've seen the future and I don't like it.

You do know that Ford Farm & Industrial sold to Fiat, hence New Holland?
In the later years - Ford's stuff wasn't really up to snuff.
But MAN!! Those 8N's were something!

Mate, until a few years ago I only used German optics ! Ziess or Doctour ! Leupold if I was feeling Cheap ! Tracey brought me a Bushnell 4-12x40 (thinking that 200+ was a expensive scope) I had to fit it to keep her happy ! Thing is that's all I use these days ! I reckon their great ! I still use Contrel mounts though !
