I wasn't aware there were 2 versions of the Victory Plastics scabbard. I need to dig out my boxes of books I haven't un-packed since my latest relocation. Thanks for bringing that to my attention, A Square 10!

the story is that its all about the hanger/frog and its attachment , not having the second version in hand i cannot attest to the accuracy personally , i have the early version of the M5 with riveted frog , [the webbing is doubled above the mouth piece ,
british & commonwealth bayonets only shows one version of the M5 victory plastic scabbard , same one i have , P340 of the bible only shows one version as well , jansen barley mentions the scabbard other than to call it uncommon , also appears to be the same one i have , but priests book - spirit of the pike , P148-9 shows both and the difference , the original had domed rivets fastening the frog to the back of the body , the rivets were flat snaps for the the second M5 version which has a removable press stud frog , webb appears tripled above the mouthpiece , the body of the scabbard is the same and both marked with VP for victory plastics , the later version had a shorter belt loop , no production stats are available but by extrapolation based on other production they think half million of the early version and 100K of the later , BTW - i still look for the second version passively , but much like the HAK no2 mkI revolver im not holding my breath ,

I gave Rhino a Bayo & metal scabbard a while back. Can't remember if there was any stampings on it or not.
Rhino - you got a line on this? |

there were more than one of those as well , if we are still talking for no4 , the mk I was the tapered version -with the ball at the end , the mk II was straight walled with a flat bottom ,
your plastic version is the mk III with rounded bottom , i have these three and the early victory plastic version there was a canadian metal mk III with rounded bottom , and the two US M3 , there was a third VP version with a metal throat piece and snap off belt loop but it may have been a repair/refurb variation , thats why i didnt mention it before , in development there was a tapered plastic version mk I -no ball , but it was experimental canadian , two [A & B] early experimental bakelite versions of the mk I -no ball , and an impregnated cloth version of the mk I -with ball , there were aluminum bodied versions as well as the steel and there was a muriad of mouthpiece versions too then there are the frogs and securing tabs and other accessory bits

no bloody fear bout that..all Rhino's girls can / will shoot (& shoot well!) I really don't think Lisa or Megs would hesitate much if they had to use force..& they're proficient! (Watch the "jewels", cuz they would be shot away...fer good measure)
