I loaded some Speer 180 grain RN bullets today and tested them, I shot a 1.25 inch group at 75 yds.
The fore end of the wood with the metal end cap was pushing up on the barrel quite hard, I relieved the pressure and free floated the barrel. The 180 Speer shot better than the 150 Hornady, I have a few days of deer season left, this will be the load I use.

There is supposed to be a mild (5~7Lbs) at the tip bearing. The good news being you can always add an oiled cardboard shim if needed. Of course if its working for you don't mess with it.

I used 47 grains of H4350 under the 180 grain Speer, this is one grain below the max on the Hodgdon reloading site, use with caution as usual.
