I had to sober-up to make this observation... Tru-dopeII's confiscation / outlaw bill (C-21) probobly wont fly, or be enforceable. Oh sure..he may enact it into "law", but who is going to dis-arm our indigenous population? If they actually try, I would like to tag along as an observer.
It just may work-out that the indigenous rise up & save our collective bacon yet once again!! This will probobly go over like a fart in a spacesuit...cuz I remember wot they said when the all purpose idiot was only focused on the AR-15: "Come & get 'em". During the Oka "crisis" they called the Army in. They soon found out that the Indigeonus were better armed than the Army was. They had @ least 2 .50 cal w/Armour Piercing on the barricades. Woulda went right thru those personel carriers. So don't be in a hurry to give em up yet!! |

Pollivier has already said he will repeal all new Liberal gun laws if elected. I suspect if Alberta's new sovereignty act passes other provinces will follow... Canada just needs to wake up and remove this current "Woke", weak and corrupt government. But as I mentioned a while back, I choose to ignore politics.😁

In 1992-98, all those crazy new gun laws never got repealed, all we got was your POL converted back to a PAL, big whoop. That time around they eliminated quite a few firearms from circulation. Same thing will happen with this. I honestly don`t think the conservatives will do Jack Shyte, or Justin Fu@ktard would have been ousted long ago. Most Conservatives MP`s are closet anti gunners and are playing the smoke and mirrors games to ensure they get voted in. Times are different this time around.

It will drive sales & trades underground. Taking a risk bringing a semi-auto rifle to a range to shoot. But, I doubt it’s possible to get them out of the hands of citizens who currently own one.

There is a cord wrapped No4Mk1 with a Grenade Launcher for sale right now with a $3999.00 USD price tag on it as well as a No4Mk1 action body that has the rear sight ears cutoff and advertised as a T rifle action body with a $750.00 USD tag on it. That action body has three very distinct screw holes in it that a PH A-29 scope base was attached to at some point in time. The chunk of steel is worth maybe $50.00 bucks IMO and not the advertised $750.00 dollars.
Two years ago I bought a POS No4Mk1 that was missing the bolt and the magazine. Paid $84.15 for it after sales tax was applied. Refurbished it and sold it back to the gun shop for $350.00. It is on the main shelf when you walk in the door currently with a $1199.00 USD sale tag on it. I have decided to put both Project Long Branch and the Faux L8A5T up for sale on Gunbroker for $5500.00 for the lot and that is going to include over 2000 rounds of ammunition, the sniper slings and the telescopes and tripod. No sense in in standing around with a thumb up my butt watching everyone else making bank rolls...

Oh for sure, but it`ll cost twice that if you ever decide to get another. How much for the telescope and tripod? I doubt I`ll be able to afford it though.

I don’t see my rifle purchases as “investments” that will make money for me some day. I buy them to shoot and enjoy. Although I paid $600 for each of the last two No. 4 rifles a few years back, I won’t sell them even if someone offered me twice that, they are good shooters and in good condition, I’d have to go find another one to replace it!
Yes, some day, when I can no longer shoot, I’ll have to start passing them on to the next caretaker. |

Preface: In regards to my earlier comment. Once the rifles are sold, I will not be looking to make any other purchases and my buying and selling days will have come to an end.
I have three rifles that will go to my daughters when I finally take that Dirt Nap. The Faux PH Supreme No4, a Marlin 39A and my Weatherby Vanguard in .243W. They will also have to decide who gets the Reb Model 1851 Colt and my Springfield Armory 1911A1. Those items were never even considered, "Investment Items." Everything else I currently own, they do not care what happens to and as such will eventually go to other caretakers in exchange for a monetary value. The Faux L8A5T and Project Long Branch were built from various bits and pieces and spec'd out accordingly and unlike the Fake PH and Weatherby, hold no Sentimental Value to me. Yes, I like to shoot my rifles but, I am particular as to what rifles those are. The remaining rifles sit in a closet and collect dust. Why not let someone else enjoy them as I did after I built them?...

britrifles. My issue I am having on whether to sell these rifles comes down to what they are actually worth because I do not see them as anything special. Two old military rifles that have been,"Sporterized/Bubba'd" with one getting a different caliber upgrade and that is about it. To me, they are still your everyday, run of the mill, one of 17 million plus rifles that were built to defend a country. Example: Any No4Mk1* made, in any condition, including just a barreled action currently is worth no more than $200.00 to me in my minds eye. The monetary value I mentioned originally was all in jest because to me, those rifles are worth maybe a little more than the $200.00 i just mentioned. They will more likely than not, continue to collect dust in my closet because I honestly think they are not worth anything to anyone...

No doubt, you build beautiful rifles Goosic. I’m sure someone will appreciate them for what they are, very nice clean examples that are in excellent condition.
Can you return one to a Faux No. 4 Mk I (T)? It would need to be in full military configuration, with the replica No. 32 scope and mount. I think that would fetch a premium, certainly something I would be interested in, and as a bonus, we know how good it shoots! |
